“The Pursuit of Happyness”: a movie about biting life

“The pursuit of Happyness” is a great movie, it’s all about the endless struggle to reach happiness and achieve goals the we, as human beings, face everyday.
It’s extremely interesting to notice what the United States Declaration of Independence says about happiness: “[...]all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness[...]”.
These words are scary honest. Your country can’t and won’t guarantee you happiness, it just creates the basic necessary conditions for you to try achieve happiness. The Declaration of Independence, which was an inspiration to the French Revolution, is a true masterpiece. Thomas Jefferson created a document of great power in such a few lines.
Think about it: “The PURSUIT of Happiness”. Our life it’s all about pursuing, pushing things, running after something. Will we got to it at last? Nobody knows, but it certainly worth a try.
Back to the movie, in one of the most moving scenes, there’s a dialogue between a father and his son about doing things:
Christopher Gardner: Hey. Don’t ever let somebody tell you… You can’t do something. Not even me. All right?
Christopher: All right.
Christopher Gardner: You got a dream… You gotta protect it. People can’t do somethin’ themselves, they wanna tell you you can’t do it. If you want somethin’, go get it. Period.
What a speech to give a son, huh?
