Yesterday I was invited by BuzzParadise and Ford to try out the new Ford Fiesta in Milan.
I have to say that the marketing campaign setup by Ford is really impressive, especially considering the fact that some initiatives are an exclusive for the Italian market, where Fiesta seems to sell pretty well.
For Fiesta Ford has created the “Love Factory” marketing campaign (VERY similar to the Fiorucci one both on the contents and concept side), composed by projections on popular buildings of major Italian cities, a complete cover up of the Fiesta factory and some interesting marketing on unusual magazines for the automotive industry.
On Elle, for example, a journalist was involved in writing her feelings and impressions about the new Fiesta, speaking to her readers in a simple language as opposed to the technical one used by automotive magazines.
Extremely interesting the idea of creating a “TV mini-series”, Italian exclusive (at least for now), that will be aired on FOX Life in the coming weeks. The series will be about everyday life of Antonella, the target customer, and her adventures with her bran new Ford Fiesta.
I’ve had a very fun time trying out the new Fiesta with some friends, among them Tommaso, and I have to say it’s a pretty nice car. Let’s sum things up!
PROS:
-Very nice exterior/interior design
-Easily accessible USB and AUX port to connect any MP3 player or USB mass storage device to the car audio system
-Very nice and smooth steer
-Shift placed in a nice position, giving a sort of “sporty” feeling
-Large trunk
CONS:
-Not very usable car audio system (you need a lot of practice, and patient, to master it)
-Non replaceable car audio system (unless you want to completely ruin the interior design)
