Google recently rolled out Maps Navigation, a pretty darn good turn-by-turn navigation application for the Android platform.
Have a look at this video to grasp some of the features of this app and realize how potentially disruptive this is for TomTom and Garmin:

This is *really* nerdy! A couple of guys attached a videocamera on a R/C helicopter and then fled it over the upcoming Apple Store on Broadway in NYC, just to see a messy rooftop under construction.
